A microphone is usually sold separately - speaking at your computer speakers will not work.

Internet video conferencing is not only used for business and educational purposes - it is used for entertainment purposes as well. The now-defunct hearme.com was a site geared towards the average Joe where regular people set up their web cameras and played host to their own "video rooms." Whether for business or for pleasure, video conferencing is a definite advantage in the cyber world.
